SUMMARY:Embracing Learner Variability for In-Person and Distance Learning:
 Helping All Learners Thrive
CLASS:PUBLIC
DESCRIPTION:Join Jessica Jackson [1] and Share My Lesson for a webinar on
supporting \nthe all students during the Coronavirus pandemic.\n\n*Thur
 sday\, August 20\, 2020*\n*1:00 - 2:00PM EDT*\n*Free*\n*Register* [2]\n\n
With the sudden shift to distance learning\, schools and educators have \
nscrambled to creatively support complex learners with diverse needs. They
\nhave adapted their communication to families\, transitioned IEP meetin
gs to \nvirtual conferencing\, and ensured their learners are still able
to receive \ntheir services through tele-therapy. However\, it is also im
perative for \neducators to adapt their instruction to create inclusive\,
accessible learning \nenvironments for their learners\, just as they wou
ld in a physical classroom.\n\nThis webinar will focus on these practices
and how learners with variability \ncan access and thrive in the distance
learning context. During this session\, \nparticipants will dive into re
search-based strategies and UDL principles that \nthey can embed in their
instruction. We will explore the Learner Variability \nNavigator’s res
earch-based strategies that teachers can use in the \nclassroom and also
adapt for online learning and build teacher \n“workspaces” using thos
e strategies and other material. They will walk \naway with free resource
s and concrete ways to address learner variability in \ntheir classrooms
 in the fall.\n\n*REGISTER HERE* [3]\n\n\n[1] https://digitalpromise.org/in
