Covid protocols - SEA 2023

 Covid protocols

The American Federation of Teachers has a responsibility to provide a safe work/meeting environment that is free of known hazards. To this end, the AFT has established extensive protocols in this age of COVID-19 for a safe in-person meeting environment that includes vaccination, testing for our headquarters building and for our meeting spaces, masking and distancing. We intentionally utilize sites that have good ventilation and cleaning protocols. We believe our collective responsibility to each other’s well-being, safety and health is best served by ensuring that everyone who attends AFT meetings is fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

You must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and show proof of vaccination to attend AFT’s Summer Educator Academy. In addition, you will be required to take a self-administered COVID-19 antigen test (provided by the AFT) on the first day (and every 3 days) of the training.

*Proof of vaccine is required to be uploaded during registration.

All in-person attendees of any AFT event at any location will need to comply with our COVID safety precautions and guidelines:

  • Upload proof of full vaccination with your event registration. Recommended boosters are encouraged, but not required.

  • At the AFT registration area, please allow 20 minutes upon arrival to take self-administered rapid antigen test, provided by AFT. A negative result is required to attend your course.

  • All attendees are strongly encouraged to test prior to traveling.

  • Masks at AFT meetings and events are optional and voluntary. Please be respectful of those who may choose to wear a mask for any number of reasons.
