Climate: Hot and humid; however, rooms may be chilly, so bring a sweater.

Supplies: Participants should bring their own basic supplies (such as highlighters, Post-it notes, spiral notebooks, laptop/device, etc.). You will receive 1-3 binders of training materials. We are able to ship materials to your local, with stipulations. Please refer to the Travel, Housing, Expenses tab for more information on this.

Meals: The AFT will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner each day beginning with lunch on July 9 (if you arrive within lunchtime dining hours) and concluding with lunch on July 15. AFT’s reimbursement policy does not allow us to reimburse the cost of meals purchased off campus during the Summer Educator Academy (see Reimbursement Forms and Guidelines). Mealtimes in the dining hall are as follows: Breakfast 6:30 a.m.–8:30 a.m.; Lunch 11:15 a.m.–1 p.m.; Dinner 5 p.m.–6:30 p.m.

The AFT will not be responsible for the loss of data or any damage to your computer. The AFT will have several computers available for participants to check email before and after class or during breaks.
