For some of you, this is an extension of Virtual Summer Educator Academy 2021 and for others you will be experiencing brand new content. Whichever is the case, Welcome! Before the Academy: Review COVID procotols for more information Create an account on the AFT Professional eLearning site to access necessary documents and course information Complete requirements for Delivering Effective Professional Development (DEPD), which will include online assignments due prior to attending the academy (for new participants) Complete any other pre-academy reading assignments for your course before the academy begins. During the Academy (as applicable): Attend all scheduled sessions on time. In the event of an emergency, notify your instructor Complete all pre-readings, homework or other assigned work Record concepts/strategies and notes in the Course Notebook (double-entry journal) Review the Criteria for Effective Presentations (Rubric) and the Practice Presentations Guidelines Deliver a practice presentation on an assigned topic at the end of the course Complete an evaluation. Post Academy - Course Completion (as applicable): Inform your course instructor of any scheduled trainings Share course evaluations with your course coordinator Stay engaged through eLearning or other means provided by your trainers or course coordinators *If all requirements are met, you will receive a certificate with the number of PD hours completed.
